Japanese
At Gordon Primary School, students have the opportunity to learn Japanese as part of the Australian Curriculum: Languages. Learning a second language broadens students' understanding of the world, develops intercultural awareness and strengthens communication skills. Through engaging and interactive learning experiences, students develop their skills in listening, speaking, reading and writing Japanese while exploring the language, traditions and contemporary culture of Japan. Lessons encourage students to use Japanese in authentic contexts, building confidence through songs, games, stories, role-play and practical communication activities. By learning Japanese, students develop curiosity, respect for cultural diversity and the confidence to communicate with people from different backgrounds in an increasingly connected world.
