Humanities and Social Sciences (HaSS)
At Gordon Primary School, Humanities and Social Sciences (HaSS) helps students develop an understanding of the world, their place within it and their responsibilities as informed and active citizens. Our program is aligned with the Australian Curriculum and draws on the subjects of History and Geography in Foundation to Year 6. Students investigate people, places, environments and events from the past and present, developing their skills in inquiry, critical thinking and informed decision-making. Through exploring Australia's history, diverse cultures, environments and connections with the wider world, students build an appreciation of different perspectives while developing the knowledge and skills to contribute positively to their community.
