Assessment and Reporting
At Gordon Primary School, assessment is an integral part of teaching and learning. Teachers use a range of formative assessment strategies throughout the year to monitor student progress, identify learning needs and inform future planning and instruction. Ongoing assessment enables teachers to provide timely feedback, differentiate learning and ensure every student is supported to achieve their best.
At the beginning of each school year, families are invited to attend "Getting to Know You" Interviews. These meetings provide an opportunity for teachers, students and parents/carers to build positive relationships, share information and establish learning goals for the year ahead.
Formal school reports are provided to families at the end of Term 2 and end of Term 4, outlining each student's achievement and progress against the Australian Curriculum. Gordon Primary School values strong partnerships between home and school, and parents and carers are encouraged to contact their child's teacher at any time throughout the year if they would like to discuss their child's learning, wellbeing or progress.
